Owen Darrell

Owen Darrell was educated at Harrington Sound Primary School and The Berkeley Institute. He graduated from the University of Tampa with a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Science and Secondary Education in 2002. Owen returned to Bermuda to teach at CedarBridge Academy and The Berkeley Institute. After 15 years of educating Bermuda’s young people, Owen completed his tenure in the education system as Year Head at The Berkeley Institute in 2017.

Owen served as Senior Advisor to the Youth Parliament from 2005 to 2017. He was also a Coordinator and Coach for the Bermuda National Quiz Team from 2002 to 2008.

Owen’s service to the PLP culminated in being elected its Party Chairperson, and it was under his chairmanship that the Party secured its second largest election victory in 2017. Currently, Owen is the Chief of Staff to the Premier of Bermuda.

Owen has also been an entrepreneur and a taxi owner/operator for nearly 20 years. He was a founding member of Bermuda’s first digital taxi dispatching service and also an Executive Member of the Taxi Association.

Owen is an avid supporter of Cleveland County Cricket Club. He also serves on the Public Golf Course Board of Trustees and can be seen passionately supporting local sports on most weekends, ensuring that everyone with him is also happy and enthusiastic.

Owen is the proud father of Tatum and Oliver.
